Jenman Wrong Again!
He loses another defamation action. April 2008
Neil Jenman has had to apologise to Professor Tom Valentine after losing another defamation action. As part of the deal Jenman has had to take down all articles written about Tom Valentine and publish the apology below on his company’s web site www.jenman.com.au . Jenman dubbed Tom Valentine “Professor Spruiker” and wrote about him on his website saying:
“ …ing crooked spruikers to stitch up decent investors and we will stop writing about you. The same applies to any spruiker, including the man we dubbed 'Professor Spruiker'
Well Valentine sued and it was Jenman who was found to be telling crooked stories and not Profesor Valentine.
This is the second case that Jenman has lost in 2008 and we believe there are more cases in the pipeline. We have a tip for Neil Jenman, investigate your story and check it for inaccuracies before printing it, and tell the truth. That way you won’t get sued or if you do you will not lose. Simple really!
We recommend that anyone who wants to buy and sell real estate looks at other alternatives to using a Jenman agent before instructing a realtor. If the man behind the business i.e. Neil Jenman has been found to be making up stories and it’s his principles that decide how a Jenman agent operates we recommend that if you really must use a Jenman agent then at least ensure that there is no small print in anything you sign and that everything is in writing, so if the transaction goes wrong at least you have some evidence to rely on.
A simpler policy is just to use a non Jenman agent who has been recommended to you by people that you know and trust.
APOLOGY TO PROFESSOR TOM VALENTINE
BY NEIL JENMAN
On 18 September 2006 and 10 July 2007, in articles published on my website, I made a number of serious accusations against Tom Valentine, Professor of Finance at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and Chairman of The Salisbury Group. As a result of my articles, Professor Valentine brought defamation proceedings against me.
Professor Valentine and I had disagreed in radio interviews about what measures can be taken to protect unsophisticated investors. In responding to Professor Valentine’s point of view on my website, I suggested that Professor Valentine’s firm, The Salisbury Group, was one of the firms who had advised investors to invest in Westpoint, with the result that those investors lost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I am now aware that Westpoint was not on The Salisbury Group’s approved product list and accordingly its representatives were not permitted to recommend it under the terms of their authorities. I accept that Professor Valentine did not personally place any investor into Westpoint nor personally recommended investment in Westpoint to any investor.
I regret suggesting that Professor Valentine was among those financial planners who had advised investors to invest in Westpoint, and unreservedly withdraw that and the other accusations I made. I also wish to apologise to Professor Valentine for the embarrassment and hurt my articles caused. I have removed those articles from the website as part of the resolution of the defamation proceedings commenced by Professor Valentine, and have agreed not to publish the articles again. |

What a shame that the high standard Australian Story invariably maintains, slipped appreciably, with the Neil Jenmam story. Indeed, he cared about his mother so much, that he didn't see her for 14 years !!!!. Saying that the disease of celulitious is life threatening !!!!.. |

There is a funny little man in Australia named Neil Jenman who endlessly tries to generate fame and fortune for himself and his own Real Estate business by attacking and maligning others. It’s a weird self promotion strategy that has caused him to need constant physical protection from body guards because he has told so many porkies about so many people

Life as a real estate consumer advocate is starting to unravel for publicity hungry Neil Jenman. It appears Jenman (right) is no longer so popular with many of his former devotees, who have been leaving his national organisation the Jenman Group in droves during the past 18 months.

It''s harder to find Neil Jenman than the famous Wally, says Enzo Raimondo. Since 1995 Jenman has almost worn out his arm throwing down the debate gauntlet - challenging the real estate industry to take him on in public debate and likewise senior members of our industry are also just as weary from throwing down the very same gauntlet.

Now that we have entered tougher times for selling, is the Jenman System fading away? My view is yes. The rise of the Jenman System advocating that marketing a property (amongst other ideologies) actually brings down the
value of a property is fast fading.
